Hamilton Middle School, Marion County High School and Guin Elementary School transitioned to remote learning on Friday, Aug. 27, due to the rise of COVID-19 cases.
Marion County Superintendent of Education Ann West stated that the remote learning is currently a temporary measure that will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
“We’ll do like we did last year--we made our decisions based on each school and what the situation was,” said West.
West stated that there was no need for all schools in the system to be closed if they are not being majorly effected by the spread of COVID.
