Winfield City School Superintendent Chris Cook announced his resignation during a Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, July 13.
“Winfield has been home for me since 1996, and the only home my family has known,” Cook said in a letter to the board. “Two of my children recently graduated, and my third will be entering the 9th grade this year. My wife, Tara, has spent her entire 23 year career teaching at Winfield High School, and I have spent over half of my educational career in the Winfield City School System, as teacher, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent. It is with much excitement, but also great trepidation that I begin a new chapter in my life.”
