HAMILTON - The Marion County Board of Education is seeking to fill an upcoming vacancy.
During the board’s meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19, members voted unanimously to accept letters of interest from those wishing to be considered for appointment to fill the District 3 seat currently occupied by longtime board member Belinda McRae.
Those letters are due no later than Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. The only qualification is that a candidate live within District 3. Marion County Superintendent of Education Ann West said district lines can be found by contacting the Marion County Board of Registrars at (205) 921-3625.
Prior to the decision, the board entered a 45-minute executive session to discuss a “legal matter” with board attorney Scott Hunt.
