The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) has confirmed Marion County's first positive case of coronavirus, according to state Rep. Tracy Estes.
Estes told the Journal Record state health officials contacted him Saturday morning, March 21, to inform him of the positive test. The state health department said it would not be providing any other information regarding the case.
Per ADPH's website, Alabama has 124 cases of coronavirus as of 11:30 a.m. on March 21. No deaths have been reported.

State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris ordered on Friday, March 20, that all non-work-related gatherings of 25 and over are prohibited if a six-foot distance between persons can not be maintained.
