WINFIELD - The Pastime Theatre in Winfield is pleased to announce that talented jazz musician Eric Essix will take the stage on Saturday, March 14, at 7 p.m.
Essix, a contemporary jazz guitarist, has performed and toured with some of the top names in this genre. Based in Birmingham, Essix is director of programing for the Alys Stephens Center and an artist in residence at UAB. He plays smooth jazz, spirituals and hymns, pop, R&B and urban jazz. His jazz legacy of performing spans over 30 years and still going strong. His love for this genre and his deep connections therein inspired him to launch the Preserve Jazz Festival, the only festival in Birmingham exclusively devoted to jazz performers.
As founder and executive producer for 10 years, Essix invited headliners like Brian Culbertson, Kirk Whalum, Boney James and Jeff Lorber to perform.
