Scottie “Boo Boo” Lee Cagle, 42, Brilliant, passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019.
Mr. Cagle was a 1995 graduate of Brilliant High School. He worked for Murray Energy Corp. at Oak Grove Mines and at Berry Mines for 16 years before its closure.
Mr. Cagle is survived by his wife of 18 years - Melinda Dodd Cagle; children - Brantley Cagle and Gunner Cagle; parents - Roger and Linda Cagle, Haleyville; mother- and father-in-law - Dianne (Gary) Willoughby, Winfield, and Steve Dodd, Brilliant; sister - Mandy (Shawn) Townsend, Haleyville; a brother-in-law - Derek Dodd, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; his work family; and other relatives and close friends.

Mr. Louie Jerome Eads, 75, Winfield, passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.
Mr. Eads was a 1963 graduate of Carbon Hill High School, a member of the Winfield Church of Christ, and retired from 3M company after 35 years of service.
Mr. Eads is survived by his wife of 54 years - Doris Spann Eads; a son - Trent Eads; grandchildren - Monica Johnson, Morgan York and Hope Meherg; great-grandchildren - Zander York, Preston Johnson, Aaron Meherg, Zeplin York, Avery Meherg, Aubriella Johnson and Zara Mae York; a sister - Kathy Ingle; and a special friend - Dean Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents - Hollis B. Eads and Letha Farris Eads; a son - Christopher Todd Eads; sisters - Nadene Eads, Evelyn Ingle, Mildred Ferster and Mary Lois Nicolas; and brothers - Lloyd Eads, Bobby Eads and Ray Eads.
The funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Winfield Church of Christ with burial following in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win.

Vickey Williams Ford
Vickey Williams Ford, 54, Ashland City, Tenn., passed away suddenly at home on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019.
Mrs. Ford was born on Aug. 30, 1965, in Guin to the late Hubert and Vona Green Williams.
Mrs. Ford is survived by her husband - John C. Ford; sons - Robert Ford, Kenny Ford and John Welby Ford; brothers - Hubert (Edsel) Williams, James Roy Williams, Tim Williams and John (Bo) Williams; sisters - Jane Williams Garrett, Peggy Skelton, Jeronia Harringer, Vivian Norman and Joy Willow Ford; and granddaughter - Raeghan Ford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers - Dwight Williams and Ottis Hugh Williams.
Mrs. Ford was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and was a bright light in all the lives she touched over her 28 - year career as a school teacher. She will be dearly missed by family and friends alike.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Ford was held on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. at the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with pastor Barry Raper officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her mother at New Hope Free Will Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New Hope Free Will Baptist Church or Nichols Cemetery.

Mrs. Herren was born on May 23, 1948, to Kelsey and Rosie Flanagan McDuff.

Benjamin “Troy” Hightower
Benjamin “Troy” Hightower, 92, Guin, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Hightower was born on Dec. 12, 1926, in Guin. He was the son of the late Jelks and Grace Akins Hightower and the husband of Emma Rowell Hightower. He graduated from Marion County High School in 1945 and also graduated from Massey Business College in Birmingham.
He started his career as a bookkeeper for D.F. Mobley and later purchased the oil business, which he ran for many years. While operating that business, he always helped those in need. Mr. Hightower served as a member of Guin City Council for 25 years, was a founding member of the Marion County High School Band Boosters, a charter member of the Guin Civitan Club, served on the advisory board for State Bank & Trust for 27 years and was also a Mason.
Mr. Hightower is survived by his wife of 67 years - Emma Hightower; children - Ben (Mary) Hightower, Fayette, and Amy (Tracy) Parker, Guin; a sister - Mildred Webb, Birmingham; grandchildren - David (Brandi) Hightower, Spring Hill, Tenn., Brent (Alanna) Parker, Guin, and Mark (Bethany) Hightower, Guin; and great-grandchildren - Palmer Hightower, Addie Grace, Cason, and Carson Parker and Hayden and Hudson Hightower.
He was preceded in death by his parents - Jelks and Grace Hightower; and brother - Gilbert Hightower.

Ms. Barbara “Annette” Nobles, Pflugerville, Texas, and formerly of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, from heart complications. She was 74. A memorial service to celebrate Ms. Nobles’ life was held at the Marion County Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at 2 p.m.
Annette was born in Hamilton on May 15, 1945, to the late LT Jackson Cotton and Blanche Mae Ritchie Cotton. After moving with her family to Peoria, Ill., Annette attended Brown Writing College. She loved writing and illustrating and published several poems and children’s stories over the years.
Annette was preceded in death by her son - Kevin Scott Rutledge.
