WINFIELD - Former Winfield Superintendent of Education Dr. Keith Davis has accepted the position as superintendent of Sheffield schools.
Davis was selected for the job on Dec. 3 and officially filed his letter of resignation as Winfield Board of Education “administrative officer” for it to be accepted during the Winfield Board of Education’s special-called meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Under pressure, Davis resigned as the Winfield superintendent of education in July and was placed in the specially-formed “administrative officer” position with a two-year, $100,000 contract.
Per the school board’s July agreement, Davis will be receiving the full $100,000, which is to be paid in the two weeks following his resignation.
In other business, the board:
• Approved the hiring of Carrie McGough as the Winfield Middle School custodian.
• Approved the hiring of Kelly Pollard as a Winfield Middle School special education aide.
