Aggies down Pirates in rivalry matchup

WINFIELD - Hamilton defeated rival Winfield 59-52 on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
The Aggies jumped out to a 19-10 advantage in the first period. Winfield trimmed Hamilton’s halftime lead to eight points by outscoring the Aggies 11-10 in the second.
Hamilton scored 19 points in the third while the Pirates had 13. The final period saw Winfield’s comeback attempt fall short despite outscoring Hamilton 18-11 to give the Aggies the seven-point victory.
Hamilton’s Justin Webb scored a game-high 17 points.
Ethan Brumley and Josh McDaniel each scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds. Brumley added four assists.
Winfield’s Luke Jungels had a team-high 16 points. He added eight rebounds, three blocks and a steal.
Graham Bradford had 15 points while Nolen Miles added 11 points and three rebounds.
Jackson Elkins had six points, eight rebounds and a steal. Taylor Chandler added two points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Brady Franks scored two points, pulled down two boards and dished out an assist.
Chris Broyles, Josh Estes and Blaise Miles each had a rebound. Blaise Miles added two steals and a block.
The victory improved Hamilton to 8-1 on the year while Winfield dropped to 5-3.
Monday, Dec. 10
HAMILTON - Hamilton beat Northside 79-52 behind a double-double by McDaniel.
The Aggies’ McDaniel finished with a team-high 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
Caleb Weeks added 16 points and Webb had 14 points. Peyton Williams added nine points and seven rebounds.
Brumley had seven points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Friday, Dec. 7
RUSSELLVILLE - Hamilton lost to Russellville 77-72 in overtime for the Aggies’ lone loss of the season.
The Aggies’ Brumley finished with 15 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Williams added 13 points and eight rebounds. Chaston McCarley and Weeks had 10 points while McCarley added four rebounds.

Brilliant
BRILLIANT - Brilliant lost to Lynn 66-41 on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
The Tigers’ Kade Bryant finished with a team-high 17 points and six rebounds.
Braden Burleson added nine points and five rebounds.
Braden O’Mary contributed five points and four rebounds.

Monday, Dec. 10
BRILLIANT - Hackleburg defeated Brilliant 79-64 for the Panthers’ third win of the season.
Stats for Hackleburg were not available at presstime.
The Tigers’ Bryant finished with a team-high 34 points. He added six rebounds and four steals.
Hunter Fosse had 11 points and three rebounds. Burleson added nine points and eight assists.

Marion County
GUIN - Marion County defeated Hubbertville 81-51 on Friday, Dec. 14.
The Red Raiders’ Braden Pyron finished with a team-high 24 points.
Mason Ezekiel and Jerry King added 17 and 16 points, respectively.
Deuce Belk scored nine points while Hunter Smith added six points.
Preston Walker had five points and Grant Nelson and AJ Berry added two points each.

Thursday, Dec. 13
GUIN - Marion County downed rival Brilliant 77-42.
The Red Raiders’ Pyron finished with a team-high 30 points.
Ezekiel added 19 points. Smith had eight points while King added six points.
Nelson, Berry and Walker added four points each. Belk scored two points.
Stats for Brilliant were unavailable at presstime.

Winfield
DANVILLE - Winfield lost to Class 4A Danville 71-67.
The Pirates’ Bradford finished with 14 points, two rebounds and a steal.
Nolen Miles added 12 points, three rebounds and three steals. Jungels had 11 points, four blocks, two rebounds and two steals.
Blaise Miles had nine points and six rebounds. Elkins added six points, one rebound and a steal.
Franks contributed four points and five rebounds. Chandler, Riley Hubbert and Estes each scored three points.
Chandler added two rebounds, one assist and a steal. Hubbert and Estes each had a rebound. Hubbert added a steal.
Hinshaw had two points, one assist and a steal. Broyles had two rebounds and a steal.
