Veterans Clinic holds ribbon cutting

 Tuscaloosa Veterans Administration (VA) Public Affairs Officer Damon Stevenson takes a picture during the the ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the new VA store-front clinic in Hamilton on Wednesday, Sept., 26. The clinic opening is part of the VA’s efforts to provide services to veterans located in rural communities, said John Merkle, director of the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. The VA provides services to veterans in 13 rural West Alabama counties Merkle said. “Our goal is to create something like this in each of those communities. We are honored to serve the veterans and I just want to thank the local community, Hamilton Mayor Bob Page and the board of the North Mississippi Medical Center for helping in this partnership,” Merkle said. The clinic in Hamilton is open on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling (205) 554-4683. If no answer, please leave a message with a call-back number.
