Panthers lose season opener

DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Mark Mitchell coaching era at Winston County High School kicked off with infectious excitement Friday, Aug. 24, as the home team flew to a 28-16 victory over the Hackleburg Panthers.
After his team’s loss, Hackleburg head coach Rod Hudson noted his squad had key areas that need improvement.
“We’ve to do a better job up front on offense and defense,” the 10-year Panther head coach said. “Our receivers are going to have to do a better job getting open and blocking on the perimeter.
“We are going to have to get more into game shape. We got tired in the second half.”
