HAMILTON - Journal Record Managing Editor Les Walters recently announced that due to the Labor Day holiday, early deadlines will be in effect for the Wednesday, Sept. 5, edition of the newspaper.
Journal Record offices in Winfield and Hamilton will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, in observance of Labor Day.
“We realize these deadlines may be an inconvenience for some of our contributors, but they are necessary to produce our newspaper in a timely manner,’’ said Walters.
“By moving our deadlines up one day, this allows our employees to spend their holiday with their families.
“It has become our policy to offer as much advance notice on our early deadlines as possible to make certain our advertisers, readers, and customers in general have sufficient time to get their material to us.’’
Walters said newspaper ad manager Kristi White and ad representative Whitley Burroughs will also attempt to remind their regular customers of these new deadlines as the holiday period approaches.
This special deadline is for the Wednesday, Sept 5, edition: All classified ads, real estate ads, lifestyles material, and legal notices must be turned in no later than noon on Aug. 28. Display ads must also be turned in no later than 5 p.m. the same day.
Regular deadlines will resume for the Wednesday, Sept. 12, edition.
