Gunnin remembered as a man who loved friends, family, community

HACKLEBURG -  To all who knew him, former Hackleburg Mayor Douglas Gunnin was a man who cared for his friends, family and the community. Gunnin passed away on May 25 at the age of 77. Gunnin served 24 years on the Hackleburg town council and two terms as mayor. Gunnin entered the political realm to serve the community that he loved, said his daughter and current Hackleburg councilwoman Tabby Lolley.
“He loved the community and he wanted to see the community get better,” Lolley said. “He was passionate about trying to help Hackleburg grow, that was his main concern,” she said.
