The Tri-County Beekeepers Association (Fayette, Lamar and Marion counties) will meet at 7 p.m. at its new location at State Bank and Trust, 7370 US Highway 43, Guin. This month the group will review and discuss, “What do you know about honeybees?” as well as the state of the group’s colonies. Anyone interested in beekeeping is welcome to attend. The Clyde Nix Public Library Summer Reading Program, “Libraries Rock!,” will be held from 11 a.m. - noon on the above dates at the Hamilton library. Programs are: Dideridoo, an Australian-themed show that combines music, culture and audience participation; musical petting zoo during which kids will get some hands-on time and try out different instruments with members of the Hamilton High School Band; and Skip the Magic Guy, an interactive magic show filled with magic and comedy. Speakers will be Dan Raburn from the Hamilton Career Center and Gina Frazier from Bevill State Community College. No registration is required.

Cooper Cemeteries’, located off Marion County Highway 22, has announced its summer mowing season. Families are asked to please remove all flowers, plants, ornaments, toys, lights and metal hooks of any kind, on or in the ground, to allow for mowing and weed eating by the above date.
