WINFIELD - Alabama Power will safely and responsibly adjust operations at business offices and appliance centers throughout the state to provide walk-in service options for customers.
According to the power company, the Winfield business office and appliance center located at 340 Bankhead Highway is included in this measure and reopened on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The lobby has been closed over the last six months in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Alabama Power has recently dealt with various scam complaints such as scammers calling and claiming to be representatives of Alabama Power or claiming that they are working with a public agency or government office looking to acquire credit card information from the individuals they call.
The company has responded by providing a list of tips to help individuals defend themselves against potential scams.
According to a release by Alabama Power:
• Alabama Power will never come to your door and demand an immediate payment.
HACKLEBURG - Hackleburg residents will no longer have the ability to make payments to Alabama Power at the town hall after Wednesday, August 31.
Alabama Power, who recently made the decision to shut down its Hamilton location, has now made the decision to pull its payment service from the Hackleburg Town Hall building in downtown.
While the service is being removed from the building, individuals will still be able to make payments online and through other authorized stores.
HAMILTON - Officials with Alabama Power have announced that the Hamilton business office’s closing date has been set for Wednesday, July 31.
Initially, information released by the power company only said the Hamilton office would be closed by Aug. 30.
Tuscaloosa-based Alabama Power Western Division Public Relations officer Danielle Kimbrough confirmed with the Journal Record on Monday, July 1, that the July 31 closing date had been decided upon.
