Don Wilson
Don Springfield Wilson, 85, of Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at his residence, peacefully and surrounded by his wife and family. He was born Nov. 10, 1939, to the late Julius and Nell Wilson of Guin, Ala.
Don was a faithful servant of the Lord. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday School for over 25 years and served as song director.
He was a truck driver for 51 years and was better known as “Marcel” to all his trucking buddies.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Williams Wilson of Hamilton; children, Sheila Miller of Caledonia, Miss., Frankie (Melissa) Frederick of Middleburg, Fla., Johnny (Sheila) Frederick of Hamilton, Freda (Jay) Hudson of Middleburg, Kevin (Angie) Wilson of Muscle Shoals, Kelly (Jeff) Hood of Hamilton and Konnie (Sandy) Wilson of Hamilton; and a truckload of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Burleson; first wife, Doris Smith Wilson; and son-in-law, Dan Miller.
Funeral services were held on April 24, 2025, at the Hamilton First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to also say a special thank you to the staff of Northwest Alabama Hospice and caregivers Essie Whitson, Merle Duncan and Kathy Lolley.
