Rebecca Delle Hudson, 100, of Leon, W. Va., passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Mrs. Hudson was born on Aug. 3, 1924, to Albert A. and Tera Jesse Bannister of Hamilton. She lived there until she took a job at Fort McClellan in Anniston. There, she met the love of her life, John Allen Hudson. They were married after World War II, and she moved with him to his hometown in Leon, W. Va. Mrs. Hudson worked at the Mason County Farm Service Agency in Point Pleasant, W. Va., until she retired. When her health started to fail, she lived with her niece Kendra Knapp and her sister Cindy Hale in W. Va., until she moved to Tuscaloosa, in 2021, to live with her niece, Sarah and nephew, Gene Burrow.
She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, many friends and her beloved church family from the Good Shepard Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hudson; two sisters, Cue Belle Byrd and Jo Nell Owsley; brother, James B. Bannister; and one nephew, William Joseph Owsley.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 2, 2025, at Hamilton Memory Gardens, with Jeff Armbrester and Clark Sims officiating.
