BERRY — The Berry Wildcats kicked off region play as they welcomed the Marion County Red Raiders to Fred Webster Stadium Friday. The Wildcats grabbed an early lead and never looked back as they cruised to a 43-point victory.
Marion County won the toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff. The Red Raiders began their first offensive drive on the Marion County 42-yard line. On the fourth play of the opening drive, the Red Raiders punted the ball to the Wildcats on fourth and 11.
On the ninth play of their opening drive, Berry got on the board when Ace Norris scored on a five-yard run from the quarterback position. Norris ran for the two-point conversion to give the Wildcats an 8-0 lead.
