Richard Jackson

Mr. Richard Perry Jackson, 84, of Winfield passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Jackson was born and raised in Martinsville, Ind. He was one of three children born to Joseph and Thelma Seeley Jackson. Richard was a faithful member and elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He attended school in Martinsville and later attended Weber State University in Utah where he earned a degree in Computer Technology. Richard served his country in the United States Army. After returning home, he and his family moved to Los Angles, Calif., and also resided part time on the beaches of Mexico before moving to Alabama. Richard spent much of his life as a business owner and computer programmer until his retirement. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed playing guitar in a band, and watching baseball, especially the L.A. Dodgers.
Mr. Jackson is survived by sons, John, Jim, Peter, Timothy and Steven Jackson; daughters, Susan Miller, Laurel Renturia, Rosa Jackson, and Vickie Jackson; 30 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, sister, Judith Harder; and a host of other family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Aardema Jackson; sons, Brian Jackson, Jacob Jackson, and Richard Jackson Jr.; grandson, Nicholas Miller; and brother, Leon Joseph Jackson.
A private family burial for Mr. Jackson was held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from the Elm Church of Christ Cemetery.
