Mrs. Jewell Dean McQuaig Lawrence, 87, of Winfield passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023 in the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Jewell was born on April 8, 1936 in Haleyville, Ala. to William and Vaudie Burleson McQuaig.
Mrs. Lawrence was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ and a 1955 graduate of Winfield City High School. Jewell was employed for over 20 years with Clifford Industry and was co-owner of Lawrence Funeral Home in Winfield for 30 years. She enjoyed working in her flowers and sewing.
Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her grandson, Tyler Lawrence of Winfield; her great-grandson and pride and joy, Bradon Lawrence of Macon, Miss.; her daughter-in-law, Tina Smith (Neal) of Macon; nephew, Bruce McQuaig; and a host of other nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Lawrence; her son, Randy Lawrence; her parents; and brothers, Bill and Jim McQuaig.
A private family graveside service was held for Mrs. Lawrence from the Winfield City Cemetery.
Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield served the Lawrence family.
