Lorene Cranford Hamilton

Lorene Cranford Hamilton, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Marion Regional Nursing Home.
She retired from the Marion County Board of Education as secretary of Hamilton Middle School in 1993. She was a faithful member of Smyrna United Methodist Church until its closure when she transferred her membership to Hamilton United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed living on the farm with her husband of 69 years, Lynwood Hamilton. Mrs.
Hamilton enjoyed gardening, raising cattle, and spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook who made delicious peanut brittle, chocolate pies, fried pies, and cakes.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her children, Brenda (Kenneth) Real of Detroit, Ala., Diane (Tillman) Baker of Phil Campbell, Ala., and Lynwood (Caroline) Hamilton, Jr. of Gulf Shores, Ala.; grandchildren, Hannah (Lancer) Smith, John Hamilton, Riley Baker, Matthew (Allie) Real, Rachel (Jacob) Boozer, Luke (Jill) Baker, Caleb Hamilton, and Katelyn Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Collyn Trentham, Rhett Real, Alec Real, and Shepherd Smith; and brother, Victor (Lois) Cranford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood Hamilton; parents, Thomas and Icie Jane Cranford; sisters, Lura Franks and Louise Green; and brothers, Vernon Cranford, Vester Cranford, Verdo Cranford, and Verdell Cranford
Funeral services were at Marion County Funeral Hole on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Services were officiated by Jeremy Prestage with interment at Hamilton Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were John Hamilton, Riley Baker, Matthew Real, Luke Baker, Caleb Hamilton, Lancer Smith, and Jacob Boozer.
