With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Aaron Tyler McCaleb on Aug. 1, 2023. He was 37 years old at the time of his departure from this world. Aaron was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Sept. 15, 1985, to Scott McCaleb and Sandy Wilson McCaleb. He was a 2004 graduate of Winfield City High School and joined the United States Marine Corp right out of high school. Aaron was a devoted son, cherished brother, and a loving father to his daughter, Rowan.
Aaron is survived by a loving family who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. He is survived by his daughter, Rowan Elizabeth Smiley; parents, Sandy McCaleb and Scott McCaleb (Kim); siblings, Seth McCaleb (Natasha) and Paislee McCaleb. He is also survived by his extended family and a wide circle of friends, all of whom were touched by his life.
Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Virginia McCaleb, and Grover and N. Louise Wilson.
In the midst of sorrow, we find hope and solace in the promise of Christ’s resurrection and eternal life. Let us remember Aaron with love and gratitude for the blessings he brought into our lives.
Funeral services for Aaron was held on Monday, August 7, 2023 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. At this time family and friends will come together to celebrate Aaron’s life. The burial will be immediately following in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations be made to establish a college fund for Aaron’s beloved daughter, Rowan, at The State Bank and Trust of Winfield. This will ensure her education is rich with opportunities, just as Aaron would have wished.
