Mr. Nathan Boake Wilds, 84, of Brilliant, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Wilds was born in Valliant, Okla., on April 8, 1938, to Quinton and Essie Baker Wilds. He was called into the ministry in 1964 and served as a minister of The Assembly of Yahvah and later served 18 years as pastor for the Seventh Day Church of God. For over 20 years, Mr. Wilds and his family spread the gospel singing as The Wilds Family. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was first and foremost a man of GREAT faith, hardworking and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, reading his Bible and praising his Saviors sweet name with a servant’s heart.
Mr. Wilds is survived by his wife of 60 years - Sheryl Webb Wilds; sons - Keith Wilds and Jason (Angela) Wilds; daughter - Denena Wilds (Donnie) Moore; grandchildren - Ashley Carter, Trevor Gaby, Boake Wilds and Brock Wilds; great-grand-child - Brayden Carter; and a host of other family members and friends including extended grandchildren - Eric Moore, Amanda Moore Cole and Valerie Moore Davis.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilds was preceded in death by brothers - Abram Wilds and Paul Wilds; and sisters - Lavern Emerline and Eddyth Stewart.
The funeral service for Mr. Wilds was held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Brilliant Memorial Gardens.
Bro. Brad Campbell, Bro. Chris Karr and Bro. James Woodall were the officiating ministers.
Serving as pallbearers were Jason Wilds, Keith Wilds, Boake Wilds, Trevor Gaby, Donnie Moore, Larry Pledger and Chris Karr.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were L. B. Garrison and Dwayne Karr.
