Basil Ray Dickson

Mr. Basil Ray Dickson, better known as Ray, 79, of Eldridge, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Dickson was born on Feb. 19, 1943, in Eldridge to Basil and Ruby Ivey Dickson.
Mr. Dickson was a member of the Eldridge Free Will Baptist Church and attended Eldridge and Hubbertville High School. Mr. Dickson spent much of his life working as a Strip Miner for Drummond Company Inc. where he later retired. Mr. Dickson enjoyed many things during his life, a few of which were, horses, drag racing, spending time outdoors and tinkering with his tractor. Mr. Dickson also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Mr. Dickson is survived by his loving wife - Judy White Dickson; sons - AJ ( Kristen) Dickson and Kevin Dickson; step-son - Gary (Lila) Dodd; grandchildren - Kaylee, Case, Garron and Landon Dickson, and Cole Davis; step-grandchildren - Jonas and Eli Dodd; step-great-grandson - River Dodd; five sisters; one brother; and a host of other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dickson was preceded in death by his son - Michael Dickson; and brother - Curtis Dickson.
The funeral service for Mr. Dickson was held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Kelley Cemetery near Eldridge.  
Bro. Randy Key was the officiating minister.
