MILLPORT — The Marion County High School Red Raiders traveled to Millport to play the South Lamar School Stallions on Friday night, Oct. 8. The Raiders came out on top, winning 26-14.
The first quarter ended with no points on the board for either team. Marion County was on the Stallions’ 42-yard line when the second quarter began.
Tye Madison ran a 42-yard touchdown in the Raiders’ first play of the quarter. The Raiders were unable to gain two more points but were still leading the Stallions 6-0.
Brodie Silas and Madison kept the ball moving on the Raiders’ next possession. A 20-yard gain from Madison put the Raiders at first and a goal from the eight-yard line. Two back-to-back four-yard runs from Silas took him over the goal line and into the endzone for another Marion County touchdown.
The Stallions were not able to respond before halftime.
