Hackleburg 62 Shoals Christian 12
HACKLEBURG - The Hackleburg Panthers won big at home on Friday against Shoals Christian. The scoring started early on in the first half as quarterback Blaise Vickery completed a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jaquan Reeder. The Panthers failed from their first extra-point attempt.
Vickery then completed a 28-yard touchdown pass to Josh Cooper, Vickery passed to Joe Carter for the 2 point conversion.
Shoals Christian responded just under a minute later when they completed a 75-yard touchdown reception from #42, the point attempt was blocked by Kaleb Dulaney.
Vickery completed a 37-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Cooper and Carson Swinney ran in the 2 point conversion.
Right at the death of the first quarter, Daniel Cooper returned a punt 57 yards for a touchdown, and Vickery passed to Carter for the two-point conversion.
Swinney started the second-quarter scoring with a 28-yard touchdown run followed by a failed two-point conversion. Seconds later, Vickery completed a 20-yard touchdown pass, Carter ran in the two-point conversion.
With just 2:30 left in the half, Shoals’ snap went over the head of their quarterback and they fell on it in the endzone for the safety.
In the final seconds of the half, Shoals finally responded on the scoreline with a 10-yard touchdown and a two-point attempt.
Deep into the third quarter, Vickery passed to Josh Cooper for a 67-yard touchdown, Swinney ran the two-point conversion in.
With 1:34 left on the clock, Shoals Christian had a three-yard touchdown run and had their two-point conversion failed.
The quarter ended with Hackleburg having a commanding lead over the game 54 to 12.
Hackleburg scored the only touchdown in the final quarter of the game when Harlee Gibson made a 13-yard touchdown run and Austin Gerald ran in the two-point conversion.
The final score of the game saw the Hackleburg Panthers win in impressive style 62 to 12 against Shoals Christian.
Vickery completed 12 of 17 pass attempts for 238 yards, throwing five touchdowns and threw two extra-point conversions.
Carson Swinney had three rushes for 34 yards and scored one touchdown and two-point conversions.
Harlee Gibson completed three rushes for 35 yards and one touchdown.
Josh Cooper completed five receptions for 126 yards and scored two touchdowns.
