WINFIELD - Abigail LaRose Webb has signed a full cheerleading scholarship to attend Wallace State Community College in Hanceville in the fall.
Abigail, 18, who is the daughter of LaDawn and Adam Lawrence, graduated from Winfield City High School (WCHS) on Friday, May 28. She has a brother, Sam Webb.
The Winfield graduate is a flyer/girl on the Pirates’ cheer squad, where she has been a member on three state champion cheerleading teams, three National High School Cheerleading Championships (NHSCC) UCA (Universal Cheerleading Association) world title teams and three NHSCC national title teams. She is six-time All-American Cheerleader and maintained a place on the A/B honor rolls throughout her education.
Abigail suffered an cheerleading injury during her senior year that required major shoulder surgery. After months of rehabilitation and therapy, she was released from her orthopedic surgeon four days before her college cheerleading tryouts.
The Pirate cheerleader plans to pursue a master’s degree in business with a focus in human resource management.
“I would like to thank my mom and Melinda Wilson,” Abigail said.

“Mom, for providing me with what I needed in all aspects, especially in cheerleading; and Melinda, for always being there for me through my many injuries.”
