It’s time to step up your game on your business’ website and social media page.
Business professors from the University of North Alabama (UNA) in Florence will lead a free digital marketing seminar in Hamilton on Thursday, Jan. 14, at Tombigbee Electric Co-op (3196 County Road 55 in Hamilton).
The session, which is exclusively available for Marion and Winston county business owners, will take place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and social distancing health guidelines will be followed.
The event is hosted by the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments (NACOLG) in conjunction with UNA’s school of business.
Topics covered during the discussion will include:
• Reaching new customers using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter
• Creating a website and email for your business
• Understanding how Customer Management Systems (such as Salesforce) are valuable in communicating with customers
• Setting up an eCommerce Platform (Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, and Ali-Express) for your specific type of business.
NACOLG Executive Director Keith Jones said Marion and Winston counties have been identified as areas were digital marketing knowledge is lacking. He believes initiatives such as this seminar will help equip business owners with the skill they need to succeed online.
“So many local merchants were not prepared to have an online presence when the economy was shutdown in March, but big box merchants were,” Jones pointed out. “We believe this course will help our small business owners market and sell their products digitally.”
Jones noted that the class is being provided free-of-charge through COVID-19 relief funding.
Registration is limited and interested persons are encouraged sign up by contacting Heath King by email at (256) 389-0511 or by email at hking@nacolg.org.
