HAMILTON - There will be a number of principal changes in the Marion County School System as the summer months begin.
The Marion County Board of Education unanimously approved the transfer and resignation of two of its current principals during its meeting on Thursday, May 13. It also took appropriate action to begin searching for a new principal for one of its schools.
Brilliant School Principal Gary McCarley was approved to transfer from his current position as K-12 Brilliant School Principal to principal at Hackleburg High School. He will be filling the position left by retiring principal John Hardin.
McCarley is currently in his 28th year of his education career in Marion County. He has spent the last six years in Brilliant, serving five as elementary school principal and the last year as K-12 principal, when Brilliant became a unit school.
