WINFIELD - Winfield dominated en route to a 62-20 victory over Lamar County on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
The Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Class 3A’s No. 2 Lady Pirates held their opponent to single-digit scoring in every quarter in the win.
Winfield’s C’era Beck finished with a game-high 16 points. She also had four assists, three rebounds and three steals.
Emma Kate Tittle added 14 points, three steals, two rebounds and an assist.
Andrea Harbin had 11 points, three rebounds, three steals and three assists.
Anna Kate Crumpton had eight points, four rebounds and a steal. Kristen Wilson added seven points, two assists and a steal.
Abbie Junkin had four points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Presley Guin contributed two points, five rebounds and two assists. Shelby Evers had five rebounds and a block.
Tinsley Franks had four rebounds while Jenna Ayers added two rebounds and a steal. Hallie Glasgow pulled down a rebound.
Saturday, Jan. 12
WINFIELD - Winfield defeated Corner 45-39 behind Harbin’s 17-point performance.
Harbin was the lone Winfield player to reach double-digits in points. She added three steals and a rebound.
Tittle had nine points while Junkin added seven points, one assist and a steal.
Crumpton had four points and a steal. Beck and Wilson each had three points. Beck added two rebounds and two steals.
Evers had two points and a rebound. Guin added an assist.
Friday, Jan. 11
CARBON HILL - Winfield’s Harbin led the Lady Pirates in points (23), rebounds (six) and steals (six) as the team earned a 50-43 win over Carbon Hill. Harbin also added an assist.
Tittle had 16 points, three steals, three rebounds and two assists.
Junkin had six points, five rebounds and a steal. Beck added three points, three rebounds and a steal.
Evers had two points, six rebounds, two blocks and a steal.
Crumpton added four rebounds while Guin had one rebound. Wilson contributed two assists.
HACKLEBURG - Brilliant defeated Hackleburg 53-44 behind a 21-point outing by Alexis McCarley on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
The Lady Tigers also had Taylor Guyton reach double-digits with 16 points.
Azia Handley added five points and Carrington Barnett had four points.
Natalie Beasley had three points. Kaitlyn Wyninger and Abby Humphries scored two points each.
Tuesday, Jan. 8
BEAR CREEK - Brilliant lost to Phillips 91-28 on Tuesday, Jan. 8.
The Lady Tigers’ McCarley finished with a team-high 14 points.
Humphries added five points while Barnett had four points.
Taylor Guyton and Hannah Guyton had three and two points, respectively.
Friday, Jan. 4
BRILLIANT - Brilliant lost 38-35 to Waterloo for the team’s second of three-straight losses.
The Lady Tigers’ McCarley finished with a team-high 15 points.
Taylor Guyton added eight points. Barnett had six points.
Humphries and Handley scored four and two points, respectively.
Thursday, Jan. 3
HUBBERTVILLE - Brilliant fell to Hubbertville 49-36 despite McCarley scoring 19 points.
The Lady Tigers’ Humphries added eight points. Wyninger had five points.
Handley and Barnett added two points apiece.
MILLPORT - Marion County earned its fifth-straight victory with a 60-25 win over South Lamar on Monday, Jan. 14.
The Lady Raiders’ Cara Sullivan finished with a team-high 16 points.
Mackenzie Pearce added 13 points. Madison Stewart and Caitlyn Jones had eight points each.
Torie Taylor, Josie Lipsey and Erin Culp added four point apiece. Laura Kestler scored three points.
Saturday, Jan. 12
GUIN - Marion County defeated Class 2A Sulligent 40-26 in a weekend contest.
The Lady Raiders’ Stewart finished with a team-high 15 points.
Culp added nine points while Sullivan had eight points.
Jones and Lipsey had three points each while Pearce added two.
Friday, Jan. 11
BRILLIANT - Marion County downed county rival Brilliant 59-39.
The Lady Raiders’ Sullivan finished with a game-high 25 points.
Lipsey and Pearce reached double-digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Culp added nine points. Jones had two points and Taylor converted on a free-throw attempt for one point.
Thursday, Jan. 10
GUIN - Marion County defeated Pickens County 63-31 behind Stewart’s 24-point outing.
The Lady Raiders’ Lipsey had 12 points while Jones added 10 points.
Culp scored seven points and Jones added six points. Pearce had four points.
