In the Wednesday, Jan. 2, edition of the Journal Record, in the story headline, “Westbrook stuck, killed crossing HWY. 43,” “stuck” is incorrect and should have been “struck.” We apologize and regret any confusion or embarrassment this may have caused.

Hamilton Police Department

HAMILTON - The following arrests and activities were reported by the Hamilton Police Department for the period of Dec. 25-31:
 Incident, offense cases
One each for illegal possession of a prescription medication and second-degree criminal mischief.
Citations, Arrests
Four for improper tag; three for second-degree possession of marijuana; two for no seatbelt; and one each for speeding, driving with a suspended or revoked license, no tag, improper equipment, third-degree domestic violence, fourth-degree theft of property and illegal possession of a prescription drug.
Wrecks
Two wrecks were reported for the week.
Felony arrests
No felony arrests were released.

Marion County Sheriff’s Dept.

HAMILTON - The following arrests and activities were reported for the one-week period ending Jan. 1:
 Offense reports
Four each for issuing worthless checks and circuit court alias; three for traffic court alias, two each for bench warrant and driving under the influence (DUI); and one each for public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, probation violation and illegal possession of a  prescription drug.
 Felony arrests
The following felony arrests were released:
• Bradley Chipman, 29, Haleyville, was arrested on Dec. 27 for third-degree escape and remains in the Marion County Jail in Hamilton on a $2,500 bond.
• Amber Stidham, 22, Hamilton, was arrested on Dec. 27 for chemical endangerment of a child and was released from the county jail on Dec. 28 on a $2,500 bond.
• Lecil Burleson, 35, Hamilton, was arrested on Dec. 28 for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and remains in the county jail on a $5,500 bond.
• Lidia Agustin, 20, Hackleburg, was arrested on Dec. 28 for chemical endangerment of a child and remains in the county jail on a $2,500 bond.
• Derek Tate, 34, Hamilton, was arrested on Dec. 28 for shooting into an occupied vehicle and first-degree criminal mischief and was released from the county jail on Dec. 31 on a $17,500 bond.
• Jared Atkinson, 27, Winfield, was arrested on Dec. 28 for possession of a controlled substance and was released from the county jail on Dec. 31 on a $2,500 bond.
• Mindy Cummings, 45, Haleyville, was arrested on Dec. 28 for second-degree theft of property-firearm and third-degree theft of property and remians in the county jail on a $7,500 bond.
• Sherry Keeton, 39, Winfield, was arrested on Dec. 29 for first-degree theft of property and remains in the county jail on a $15,000 bond.
• Coleman Roberson, 24, Oakman, was arrested on Dec. 31 for second-degree theft of property and remains in the county jail on a $7,500 bond.
• Victoria Gardner, 31, Hamilton, was arrested on Jan. 1 for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and remains in the county jail on a $3,000 bond.
• Perry Gilbert, 57, Glen Allen, was arrested on Jan. 1 for possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of a controlled substance and remains in the county jail on a $3,500 bond.
• Jessica Nix, 40, Nauvoo, was arrested on Jan. 1 for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and remains in the county jail on a $3,000 bond.
(When a defendant is charged with a crime, the charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Winfield Police Department

WINFIELD - The following arrests and activities were reported by the Winfield Police Department for the period of Dec. 26- Jan. 1:
 Incident,offense cases
Six for possession of a controlled substance; four each for possession of drug paraphernalia and alias warrant; three for third-degree criminal mischief; two each for harrassing communication, second and fourth-degree theft of property and third-degree domestic violence; and one each for third-degree burglary, public intoxication, distribution of a controlled substance, DUI, third-degree assault, second-degree robbery, violation of a protection order, chemical endangerment of a child, driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, menacing, arrest prior to requisition and second-degree possession of marijuana.
Citations
Three for speeding; and one each for reckless driving, operating a vehicle witout insurance, DUI, expired tag, failure to register vehicle, driving with a revoked license, driving while under the influence of a controlled substance and failure to wear a seatbelt.
Arrests
Six for possession of a controlled substance; four each for possession of drug paraphernalia and alias warrant; public intoxication, distribution of a controlled substance, DUI, driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, chemical endangerment, fourth-degree theft of property, arrest prior to requisition and second-degree possession of marijuana.
