Holiday garbage, closing schedules listed

HAMILTON - The following garbage pickup schedules have been announced in connection with the Christmas and New Year‘s holidays:
Marion County Solid Waste
• For the Christmas holidays, Marion County Solid Waste officials have announced that the Monday, Dec. 24, garbage will be collected on the Friday before, Dec. 21, and the Tuesday, Dec. 25, garbage will be collected on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
For New Year’s, the Monday, Dec. 31, garbage will be picked up on Friday, Dec. 28, and the Tuesday, Jan. 1, garbage will be picked up on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Brilliant
The Town of Brilliant has announced that Brilliant Town Hall will be closed Dec. 24-25 for Christmas and Dec. 31-Jan. 1 for New Year’s.
Town officials have advised that Brilliant garbage collections during Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25, will be delayed until Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Collections during the New Year’s holidays on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, will be collected on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Guin
Guin City Hall will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25, as well as New Year’s Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1.
For the Christmas holidays, Monday’s and Tuesday’s (Dec. 24 and 25) garbage will be collected on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
The Wednesday, Dec. 26, garbage will be collected on Thursday, Dec. 27.
For New Year’s, the Tuesday, Jan. 1, garbage will be collected on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Hamilton
During the Christmas holidays, the City of Hamilton has announced that garbage which normally would  be collected on Monday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, will be picked up instead on Friday, Dec. 21.
Garbage normally collected on Tuesday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day, will be picked up the following day, Wednesday, Dec. 26.
For the New Year’s holidays, the Monday, Dec. 31, garbage will be collected on Friday, Dec. 28. The Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, garbage will be collected on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Hamilton City Hall will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, as well as Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2019.
Hackleburg
Waste Management services will be collected one day behind beginning on Christmas Day.
Monday, Dec. 24, garbage will be collected as usual; Tuesday, Dec. 25, garbage will be collected on Wednesday, Dec. 26; Wednesday garbage will be collected on Thursday, Dec. 27; Thursday garbage will be collected on Friday, Dec. 28; and Friday garbage will be collected on Saturday, Dec. 29.
The garbage schedule for New Year’s week is still being determined.
Hackleburg Town Hall will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24  and Dec. 25.
Winfield
 The City of Winfield announced that Winfield City Hall will be closed Dec. 24-25 for Christmas, as well as Dec. 31-Jan 1 for New Year’s.
The Winfield Street Department will be delaying the Monday, Dec. 24, garbage collection on Wednesday, Dec. 26, and Tuesday, Dec. 25, garbage collection to Thursday, Dec. 27.
Garbage collection which falls on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, will be collected Wednesday, Jan. 2, and those falling on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1, will be collected on Thursday, Jan. 3.
Courthouse
The Marion County Courthouse will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25 for Christmas and Dec. 31-Jan. 1 for New Year’s.
United States Post Offices will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Marion County Schools
The Marion County School System will be closed beginning Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 3 p.m. - Thursday, Jan. 3, for the Christmas  and New Year’s holidays, with students returning on Friday, Jan. 4.
Winfield City Schools
The Winfield City School System will be closed beginning at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 19 - Thursday, Jan. 3, for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, with students returning on Friday, Jan. 4.
Bevill State
Bevill State Community College will be closed beginning at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 19, and remain closed until Wednesday, Jan. 2, for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, with classes starting Monday, Jan. 7.
Journal Record
The Journal Record offices in Hamilton and Winfield will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
