GUIN/HACKLEBURG - The City of Guin and the Town of Hackleburg have announced plans for their respective 4th of July celebrations.
The Hackleburg celebration begins at noon with a parade hosted by the Sonny James American Legion Post 168. The parade will feature local businesses and civic organizations, including the Trussville Division of Antique Military Vehicles, AseraCare Hospice, Country Place Senior Living, the Hackleburg and Hamilton fire departments, Winfield Cruise-in Car Club, Auto Locators LLC., Logan and Logan Auto Sales, and the Toll Gate Restaurant, among others. Also, the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts will be marching in the parade.
The American Legion Post 9 Honor Guard, Jasper, will also participate. The parade will begin at the old Piggly parking lot and roll through downtown Hackleburg. After the parade, the Hackleburg public swimming pool will be open from 1-7 p.m with free admission all day. Hotdogs and hamburgers will be available at the concession stand. Local musicians will provide entertainment at the pool with Dexter Roberts taking the stage at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks will blast off at 9 p.m.
In Guin, the water park will be open from noon to 9 p.m. The Cooter Brown Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. at Hayden Riley Park. The park will be offering hotdogs and hamburgers for sale. Fireworks will be launched at the park at 9 p.m.
Attendees for both events are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
