HAMILTON — The election for Hamilton’s city council place #2 is headed to a runoff between Frankie Kerr and Regenia Wisecarver on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
The polls will be located at the E.T. Sims Jr. Recreation Center and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The election, held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, featured a three-way race between Kerr, Wisecarver and Tayten Lann.
Kerr received 624 votes, Wisecarver received 467 votes and Lann received 341 votes. Since none of them received at least 51 percent of the vote, the race for place #2 is headed to a run off.
The mayoral and other council place elections all ended decisively. Mayoral candidate Tami Williams defeated Wade Williams 752-703.
For council place #1, Edward “Shane” Stidham defeated Jeffery Cochran 1,231-203.
For council place #3, Sherry Pickard Armstrong defeated Trent Lann 1,008-421.
For council place #4, Candace Ingram defeated Jason Vaughn 980-428.
Finally, for council place #5, Scott Robertson defeated Nicholas George 924-497.
