Bobby Ling

Bobby Ling, 86, of Gattman, Miss., passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Bobby was born on Sept. 9, 1938, in Gattman, to the late Stonewall Ling and the late Ellie Easter Ling. Mr. Ling was a graduate of Greenwood Springs School and attended trade school in Hamilton, Miss. Bobby served in the United States Army and was a truck driver for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, yard work and bird watching. Bobby was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ling of Gattman; son, Dewayne (Melissa) Ling of Smithville, Miss.; grandchildren, Eric Ling, Justin (Jessica) Ling, Colby Ling, Landon Rye and Robbie Ling; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Alice (Dean) Price of Sulligent and Doris (Clinton) Thompson of Shannon, Miss.
He is preceded in death by his parents and great-grandson, Liam Rye.
Graveside services with military honors and burial, were held on April 26, 2025, at the Blair Cemetery on Wolfe Road near Gattman. Bro. Charles Wharton officiated. Pallbearers were Eric Ling, Justin Ling, Colby Ling, Landon Rye and Robbie Ling.
