Jackson Brodie Umfress, our beloved son, brother, grandson, and nephew, ran into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Jackson was born on October 30, 2006 in Gulfport, Miss. to Ryan and Shellie Umfress.He was a senior at Hamilton High School, Class of 2025, where he was a gifted athlete who excelled in football and basketball. He was an all-around well loved member of the HHS student body.
Jackson attended and was a member of Hamilton Freewill Baptist Church where he was active in the youth group and always willing to help anyone. He received Christ as his Savior in May 2014 and was baptized.
His passing leaves a void that will never be filled. We are so thankful to God for allowing us to have Jackson for 17 years and love him. Not a day went by that he did not know he was loved beyond measure by his family. Lord, please use Jackson’s life for Your glory to help others come to know You before it’s eternally too late. Thank you for the reassurance we will see our precious Jackson once again in Heaven.
He leaves to honor his memory always, his proud parents, Ryan and Shellie Umfress; fiercely devoted sister, Kalaya; grandparents, Dennis and Teresa Wagner and Randall Marsh and Edna Umfress; great-grandparents, Grady and Marsha Marsh and Monica Halili; aunts and uncles, Katie Wagner, Heath and Stephanie McCarley, Bobby and Constance Umfress; and cousins, Ezekiel and Ezra Umfress. He also leaves to honor his memory, his beloved girlfriend, Reagan Willingham, and numerous friends both near and far.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Umfress; great-grandparents, Dennis and Joyce Barron and Bobby and Evelyn Umfress.
Pallbearers were Josh Franks, Justice Walker, Dalton Cochran, Raben Byrd, Bryant Wood and Britton Wooten.
Funeral services were held on June 21, 2024, at Hamilton Freewill Baptist Church. Pastor Tommy Franks and Jackson’s father, Ryan Umfress, officiated. Jackson was laid to rest at Poplar Log Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
