Dock Lynn

Dock Lynn, 86, of Guin  passed away June 19, 2024 at his residence.
Born September 21, 1937, in Mt. Hope, Ala., he was the son of the late Lee and Eunice Blankenship Lynn and the husband of Betty Lolley Lynn.  He had lived in Guin most of his life and worked for REA for 45 years before retiring.  He served in the Alabama National Guard for 10 years and was a member of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.  Dock assisted with the electrical wiring of the 2 newest sanctuaries at the Free Will Baptist Church in Guin and the Trinity Free Will Baptist Youth Camp at Twin.  He loved fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Lolley Lynn of Guin; son, Kenneth (Charla) Lynn of Wayside, Ala; daughters, Kathy (David) Matthews of Guin and Carol (Ron) Mitchell of Northport, Ala;  grandchildren, Alisha, Anthony, Ashley, Andrea, Amy, Allison, Alice, Starla, Matthew and Stuart; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Cook; brothers, Charles Lynn and Jim Lynn, all of Winfield; special nephew, Ralph Lolley; special friends, Russell Cole and Brian Allen; as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Jeremy Lynn and Evan Mitchell; great-grandson, Alexander Locke; and brothers, Jack Lynn and Troy Lynn.
Services were held Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery.  Bro. Greg Rooker, Bro. Gerald Gann, and Bro. Mark Riggs officiated.
