Buddy Ball announced at Winfield

WINFIELD -- The Winfield Park and Recreation department is excited to announce Buddy Ball to the Winfield area for their new adaptive athletics program. Buddy Ball is a league devoted to the children with special needs. It is Winfield Park and Recreation's belief that every child deserves the chance to participate in the game of baseball/softball. Buddy Ball will give the children in need of adaptive athletics that opportunity. It allows the challenged or special needs athletes to enjoy the game on the same level that is experienced by other participants. Advancing the personal development of any child through team participation and kinship is an important step along the road to success and happiness.
The Winfield Park and Rec is humbly asking you to please allow your child to participate.
Buddy Ball is open to all Winfield students 5-16 with special needs. It will be formed with absolutely no cost to the parents/guardians. Sponsors will be provided for the program.
Each participant will have a “buddy” that will help them bat, advance to base and play in the field.
Rules will be distributed at the parent meeting/registration on Monday, March 20, at 6 p.m. at the Winfield Community Center.
For more information please call Gina Bryant at 205-487-6710 or 205-412-2576.
