A Shottsville couple is seeking answers after an engine fire totaled their vehicle and damaged their home. They say the incident occurred immediately after their car was serviced at the Hamilton Walmart’s Auto Care Center.
On Saturday, April 24, Vicki Winsett’s 2015 Nissan Altima caught fire and became fully engulfed while parked in her driveway on Goggans Road in west Marion County.
Winsett told the Journal Record that her boyfriend, Nathan King, had driven the care about 12 miles back to their house from the Hamilton Walmart after getting an oil change and having four new tires put on their vehicle. She says her car only had about 50,000 miles on it and had no mechanical problems prior to the service.
“It was Walmart’s fault,” Winsett said during a phone interview.
