Mr. William Edmond Posey, better known as Eddy, 68, of Winfield, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022.
He was born in Nashville, Tenn., on Oct. 25, 1954, to Curtis Wilson Posey and Mary Rose Owsley Posey.
He was a 1973 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Heavy Duty Aftermarket Products from Northwood University. He was owner and operator of Winfield Truck Parts for over 20 years and currently service manager for Waters International. He was a member and Deacon Emeritus at the Winfield First Baptist Church. He currently was serving on the Winfield City Council.
Mr. Posey is survived by his wife of 47 years - Debby of Winfield; his son - Nicholas (Stacie); a grandson - Asher; a sister - Betty (Bill) McIntosh of Bossier City, La.; a brother - C.W. Posey II “Junior” (Hilda) of Hoover; mother-in-law - Elease; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Posey was held on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial following at the Griggs Place Cemetery.
Dr. Paul Murphy was the officiating minister.
Serving as pallbearers were David Woodley, David McKinney, Scott Duckworth, Brett Burleson, Clark Weeks, Kevin Bradford, Bart Hyche, Landrum Roberts and Wade Miles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Winfield First Baptist Church Children’s Church Building Fund.
