Mrs. Joyce Dean Gilbert, 82, of Foley, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Jan. 21, 2022, in the Montrose Bay Health Care Center in Fairhope.
Mrs. Gilbert was born on Feb. 5, 1939, to Carlos and Nella Dean Gilbert. She was a 1955 graduate of Winfield City High School. She moved to Huntsville and there went to work with IBM. She later transferred with IBM to Austin, Texas, until her retirement. She then began a successful second career in real estate.
Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her brother - David Gilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents - Nella Dean Malone Gilbert Sweeney and Carlos A. Gilbert; her brothers - Almus, Ray, Jerry and Willie Gilbert; and her sister - Virginia Gilbert Jett.
The funeral service for Mrs. Gilbert was held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the West Alabama Memorial Gardens.
