James Houston Webster

Mr. James Houston Webster, 83, of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at his residence.  
Mr. Webster was born on June 21, 1938, to James and Jimmie Lou Webster in Fayette County.
He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a 1956 graduate of Hubbertville High School and a 1960 graduate of the University of Alabama where he earned his degree in chemical engineering. After college, he was employed with 3M where he worked his way up to plant manager at the St. Paul, Minnesota, the Antwerp, Belgium, and the Decatur facilities. Mr. Webster retired from 3M after 41 years of service.
He is survived by his sons - James M. Webster and William H. (Kimberly) Webster; his daughters - Susan H. (Ronald “Buddy”) Goertz and Karen H. Hilbun; grandchildren - William G. (Cara) Webster, Katherine Webster, Britton Webster, Caroline Webster, Benjamin (Lisa) Goertz, Amy Paul, Caleb Goertz and Jacob Goertz; great-grandchildren - Theodore, Elinor, Ember, Saylor, Cora, Zeppelin and Eleanor; his sisters - Wanda Webster Wakefield and Gail Webster Harris; nephews - Todd (Cindy) Wakefield and Brett (Kim) Wakefield; a great-niece - Kendall Wakefield; great-nephews - Keller Wakefield and Jace Wakefield; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife - Carol McCaleb Webster; his second wife - Elaine Avery Webster; and his parents - James Hollis Webster and Jimmie Lou Haney Webster Marcum.
The funeral service for Mr. Webster was held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Berea Church of Christ Cemetery.  
Buddy Bell was the officiating minister.
